Halloween 2011

This year we were a bit smarter when it came to the Halloween party. We did a lot of preparation before hand, including cooking witch fingers a few days before, and preparing the brain jello. We also decorated before hand, making the day of the party much easier!

This year I also decided to make my costume. Who knew wearing a trash bag could look so good!

My partner in crime went all out this year and decided to be a fabulous pirate, with all the accessories too!

And as with ever year, pumpkin carving was a major part of Halloween. Surprisingly, there was a bit of a pumpkin shortage in our town.  We did manage to find some and carve some great jack o’ lanterns!

Another successful Halloween in Sweden!

Halloween 2010

My Halloween in Sweden I can safely say, was a success! We had a lot of friends come dressed up, the atmosphere was great, food was eaten, and everybody left with a little Halloween kick in their heels.

Hosts

The hosts were quite happy with the success of the party. It was completely exhausting preparing all the food and decorations in one day, but well worth it!  I had a giant spider attached in my hair, and snow white had some major eyelashes going on!

More impressive was our guests, we had a great home made mummy…

As well as a headless monster man…

But I think the winner of the costume contest that evening was the ninja turtle. Completely home made! True, he couldn’t eat or drink very easily, and had trouble sitting down. And when you put him on his back, he couldn’t get up again (just like a real turtle!), but it was still an amazing home made costume!

Ninja Turtle

It was a great first Halloween in Sweden. The interesting thing was the smashed pumpkin in the morning. Is there something about jack o’ lanterns that create the urge for people to smash them? :)

The Halloween Itch

It is August.  Summer is over, and the nights are slowly starting to get darker.  While Halloween is still more than 2 months away, I start feeling the itch! October 31st starts sneaking up on you quickly – and if you want to plan a perfect Halloween party, the sooner you start planning, the better.

This will be my first Halloween Party in Sweden. And you know what they say about first impressions! So I plan to make this party on my Swedish friends will see in their nightmares!
